The Kinguard Project provides ready made images for installation on numerous platforms.

Yes to all, and ready to run on a device under your control.

The Kinguard Project brings you a complete, ready to go, server that can handle email, files, calendars and everything else without the hassle of trying to combine these services on your own.

Upload and share files, access and send emails without any third party involvement! The intention is that the owner is in control of the data, not a third party cloud provider.

All content data is stored encrypted and can not be accessed without unlocking the storage device and all backups are encrypted before they leave the unit in order to be securely stored on remote backends without data access to the storage provider.

The project builds on existing, well known software components and everything is open source and based on well known standards.

Human Rights

Human rights belong to every member of the human family regardless of sex, race, nationality, socio-economic group, political opinion, sexual orientation or any other status.

Human rights are universal. They apply to all people simply on the basis of being human.

Human rights are inalienable. They cannot be taken away simply because we do not like the person seeking to exercise their rights. They can only be limited in certain tightly-defined circumstances and some rights, such as the prohibition on torture and slavery, can never be limited.

Human rights are indivisible. You cannot pick and choose which rights you want to honour. Many rights depend on each other to be meaningful – so, for example, the right to fair trial would be meaningless without the prohibition on discrimination, and the right to free speech must go hand in hand with the right to assemble peacefully.

Human rights are owed by the State to the people – this means public bodies must respect your human rights and the Government must ensure there are laws in place so that other people respect your human rights too. For example, the right to life requires not only that the actions of those working on behalf of the State do not lead to your death, but that laws are also in place to protect you from the actions of others that might want to do you harm.

Mission Statement

The KinGuard Project, and the community around it aims to support a software platform that can give the possibility to have private and personal data, available from anywhere on any device without third party dependencies and data harvesting.

By installing open source software on a device under physical control, there is no need to sign over any kind of rights on the content to the service provider, and by supporting end to end encryption wherever possible it is also possible to keep conversations and data transactions private.

The community is totally open source and hosts a forum for discussions and a wiki to help out with documentation and other static information. All software is hosted on Github and is free and open source.

Overall goal for The KinGuard Project is to have a software that can work on many platforms, without any need at all for third party involvement. The software bundles shall be made available as ready to use install images, and it should be possible to use without more administrative knowledge that is required to set up a router or access point.
